Epic to Replace All Developers with Marketing Staff

During its 43-year history of creating award-winning healthcare software, Epic has prided itself on having a staff that’s heavily focused on research and development and not focused on marketing. But times are changing, and Epic needs to keep up, according to CEO Judy Faulkner, who announced today that Epic will replace its entire R&D department with a marketing team.

“In both software development and PowerPoint design, you get that same experience of creating something that’s helpful and visually pleasing,” Faulkner said. “We’re offering all of our developers the option to transition to the new marketing team after a month of design and advertising techniques training.”

Epic president Carl Dvorak is among the former developers who will join the new team. “I think this will be a great change for our customers and our staff,” he said. “It’s much easier to create a PowerPoint presentation than healthcare software.”
